Mage Night – Ultimate Edition

Central Texas Board Game and Miniatures Posted on December 21, 2021 by RichardJanuary 5, 2022

Combining elements of RPGs, deck-building, and traditional board games, the Mage Knight Board Game puts you in control of one of four powerful Mage Knights as you explore (and conquer) a corner of the Mage Knight universe under the control of the Atlantean Empire. Build your army, fill your deck with powerful spells and actions, explore caves and dungeons, and eventually conquer powerful cities controlled by this once-great faction! In competitive scenarios, opposing players may be powerful allies, but only one will be able to claim the land as their own. In cooperative scenarios, the players win or lose as a group. Solo rules are also included.

Mage Knight is listed as the 25th best game on BoardGeek.

The Carriage House is Now Finished and Game Ready

Central Texas Board Game and Miniatures Posted on December 15, 2021 by RichardDecember 15, 2021

Finally got the upstairs shelves and cabinets installed and painted. We are now ready to start moving all our treasures upstairs. A bit of drama with the dragons. They flew upstairs to their new high perches but Cthulhu had other ideas and knocked what he called “smoke stained flying lizards” off the perch and took the top for himself as he said ‘’as expected”… the two Black Dragons are mad at each other because the Red Dragon bested them for the next best perch.

Mansions of Madness

Central Texas Board Game and Miniatures Posted on December 13, 2021 by RichardDecember 13, 2021

Mansions of Madness: Second Edition is a fully co-operative, app-driven board game of horror and mystery for one to five players that takes place in the same universe as Eldritch Horror and Elder Sign. An immersive app guides the players through the streets of Innsmouth and its haunted corridors of Arkham’s cursed mansions as you search for answers and respite. Up to eight investigators stand ready to confront four scenarios of fear and mystery, collecting weapons, tools, and information, solving complex puzzles, fighting monsters, dodging insanity, and risking death.

Brian, Lee and Richard are currently playing weekday scenarios. So far, we have finished two scenarios; Gangs of Arkham and Cycle of Eternity. Both with mixed results.

The King Is Dead

Central Texas Board Game and Miniatures Posted on December 13, 2021 by RichardDecember 13, 2021

The King is Dead by Osprey. The kingdom is fractured. Three factions are competing for the throne — the Scottish, Welsh, and English — while they vie for control, across the sea there are foreign French invaders prepared to take advantage of the unrest. Players must use their limited resources to influence this power struggle, while ensuring that the faction that rises to dominate the realm favors them above all other claimants to the throne. Jim and Richard played cooperating factors with Lee and Steve playing two others. Despite the no communication rule, Jim and Richard influenced 5 for 5 games. Lee anD Steve were escorted to the executor.
