Gunfight Royale

Central Texas Board Game and Miniatures Posted on July 31, 2023 by RichardJuly 31, 2023

Players battle to the last gunfighter standing using dice, cards, poker chips, and miniature figures sculpted in the style of vintage cartoons. Players choose between twelve very distinct characters whose special abilities must be considered carefully depending on the scenario drawn and the choices made by opponents. Found items and dirty trick cards are used to surprise and outwit opponents, while the figures and board encourage players to use sound tactics.

After being eliminated from the game, a player can continue to influence play through their dirty trick cards, so nobody is left out.
The game ends when only one character remains standing, or a miniature on horseback reaches the end of the time track. At the end of the game, the winner is determined by the total bounties of opponents eliminated, plus bonuses for found items and scenario objectives.

Jim, Lee and Richard played three scenarios.. The first game, Lee and Jim fought it out to the point that both were riddled with holes and down to crawling. Richard then finally got to the middle of the board with a rifle and shoot Jim, who was hiding in a haystack, dead. Lee was crawling away and Richard turned him over so he could see it coming and smashed his head to a pulp with the boot.

The second scenario was to capture the gold in the middle of the street and take it off board. Richard and Jim started at the far end of the town, while Lee, started in the middle right next to the gold. Game was basically over before it began with Lee making the corner of the board without much trouble.

The third scenario was a bank robbery. Jim started close to the bank and got to try to open the vault. Lee made it into the bank and a shootout occurred. Lee got the short end of the straw and was gunned down on the spot with Jim only taking a few wounds. Richard then entered the bank’s back door and had a showdown with Jim. Jim got a shot off wounding Richard but Richard got two volleys off and simply tore Jim apart with the last volley scoring 9 hits on Jim. Richard picked up the bank loot and adjourned to the local cathouse to celebrate. Unfortunately, Richard caught a bad crouch rash and died a year later from insanity.

Mage Knight – get the fame

Central Texas Board Game and Miniatures Posted on July 24, 2023 by RichardJuly 24, 2023

Lee and Richard tried a 3 day game to see how many fame points we could get within that time frame using unlimited tile placement. Lee got halfway up the fame table while Richard was only 7 fame away from maxing out the fame table.
