Descent: I Brought You A Present

Central Texas Board Game and Miniatures Posted on September 8, 2023 by RichardSeptember 8, 2023

Eager to demonstrate his value to his new allies, Chance “acquired” several sets of armor for them to use.

Brynn was grateful for his efforts, but stopped short of condoning any illegal activities. Instead, she requested that he allow her a measure of plausible deniability.

Descent: The Outlaw Prince

Central Texas Board Game and Miniatures Posted on September 8, 2023 by RichardSeptember 8, 2023

Chance led the other heroes to a bandit hideout to recover stolen supplies for refugees in Frostgate. They were ambushed by the Outlaw Prince and trapped in a gas-filled pit, but Chance was able to pick an “impossible” lock and get his new friends to safety.

The Outlaw Prince revealed that he was the one who trained Chance to be a thief, and falsely claimed that he had sent the hyrrinx to lure the heroes into a trap. Chance refused to abandon his new allies, and joined with them to oppose the bandits and the Outlaw Prince.

Chance had been raised by the bandits, and counted some among them as friends, but he left that life behind when he opposed their leader, the Outlaw Prince.

Descent: Side Events

THE PRICE OF KNOWLEDGE

Syrus met with Astarra, one of his old contacts from his days at Greyhaven. Although Astarra also left the university on poor terms, Syrus requested her assistance with understanding how the Uthuk might attempt to open a portal to the Ynfernael.

Astarra offered what advice she could, and agreed to carry Greysdon’s notes back to the university, and Syrus cautioned her against studying them too recklessly.

MEETING OF THE GUIlDS

Kehli attended a guild summit so that she could repair her relationship with the guild masters.

• Kehli approached Master Flint of Forge’s Smith’s Guild. Though she was not reinstated, Flint did offer the Guild’s assistance in the future.

Descent: The Elemental Cycle

Central Texas Board Game and Miniatures Posted on September 5, 2023 by RichardSeptember 5, 2023

Syrus sought to confer with one of his old mentors from Greyhaven, Professor Greysdon, but Greysdon had made a dangerous bargain with the Uthuk in exchange for several dragon eggs. Professor Greysdon lured the heroes into a trap, but Syrus and his friends overcame the twisted professor and captured him.

Greysdon was responsible for the accident back at Greyhaven that led Syrus to bond himself to Indris, in order to save the phoenix’s life. Syrus realized after this latest betrayal that Greysdon would always choose personal power above any notion of friendship or morality.

Greyson’s notes revealed one possible reckoning of the elemental wheel, the interaction of elemental energy that powers some forms of magic.

The heroes did not save the dragon eggs from Greysdon’s experiments, and the eggs were presumed to be destroyed.

Descent – Playing with Fire

Central Texas Board Game and Miniatures Posted on August 30, 2023 by RichardSeptember 5, 2023

Kehli and her new friends traveled to an Alchemists’ League workshop, where they saved guild resources and personnel from an Uthuk attack, and also stopped a rampaging animus that had been the subject of Kehli’s reckless

Kehli was revealed to have been a member of both the Alchemists’ League in Thelgrim and the Smiths’ Guild in
Forge. She was expelled from both guilds for her reckless disregard of their rules.

Kehli’s experiments on a group of damaged animus were responsible the destruction of the workshop. She made dangerous modifications to the constructs, and her inability to control them put the entire workshop in danger.

Playing four characters. Kehli and Brynn (Lee) and Syrus and Glaladen (Richard)… have to rescue survivors of one of Kehli’s innovations gone wrong. Only got part way into the scenario.
