Trials of Tempus

Choose your Hero wisely, for the skills and allies you need to conquer each Trial are never the same, and the Guardian that awaits you all at the end will surely test the limits of your bravery… or is it your cunning? The Trial will tell.

To win, you and your party must work together to earn more Victory Points than your rivals by completing Quests and gathering Loot! Finally, you must defeat the Trial Guardian. Whichever party has the most Victory Points when the Trial Guardian falls wins the Trial!.

Descent: Final Vengeance

EVENT

THE EVE OF BATTLE

On the eve of their battle with Ne’Krul, the heroes reviewed their efforts to oppose her and disrupt her ritual attempt to free Baelziffar, the Demon King, from his prison in the Ynfernael.

EVENT

THE SPREADING MISTS

More rumors of hauntings and terror in Northern Forthyn reached the heroes. And again, they found the farmer Herbie at the center of the activity.

This time, however, it was no hoax. Herbie was beset by beasts and spirits, driven by the malevolent will of Waiqar the Undying. The heroes led the effort to evacuate the farmers.

EVENT

PUT TO REST

Following her encounter with Kathryn’s spirit in Fallowhearth, Brynn met with her aunt, Baroness Adelynn, to offer what condolences she could.

With Brynn’s help, Kathryn was able to say goodbye to her mother, the Baroness.

FINAL VENGEANCE

Ne’Krul began her attempt to free the Demon King, Baelziffar, from his prison in the Infernael. Galaden and the other heroes killed her before she accomplished her goal, and Baelziffar remains cut off from the mortal realm.

  • Because the heroes saved the people of Fallowhearth, the Blood Sister had only a few sacrifices for her horrific rituals
  • Because the heroes prevented Ne’Krul from gaining the dragon skull from Meza and The Dread, she was forced to use lesser bones in the ritua
  • Because the heroes retrieved the rune from Gyldren’s tomb, Ne’Krul was forced to use trinkets of lesser power for her ritual

EVENT

GLAD HEARTS

Brynn was summoned to Highmont at the behest of her aunt Adelynn. The Baroness intended to name Brynn her legal heir and successor.

Descent: Chance Spotlight

Central Texas Board Game and Miniatures Posted on September 22, 2023 by RichardSeptember 25, 2023

Like many Hyrrinx, Chance was exiled from his community when they ran out of enough food to feed the entire group. Forced to survive on his own, he resorted to a life of crime at a young age, initially working for a street crew in Frostgate. His skill was quickly recognized by those above him, and he was moved to work directly under and for the Outlaw Prince. Chance was brought up to believe that only the good fortune granted him by his master, the Outlaw Prince, has kept him alive and successful this far in life.

As a little guy himself, Chance is always alert for an opportunity to score the telling blow, using stealth to bide his time until the moment is right to strike. These traits are in the forefront of his two abilities: Child of Darkness and On the Prowl. Chance thrives in hiding in the shadows and with his two weapons, the Thorntip Knives and Shadowclaw Gauntlet, he is sure to land some brutal combos. Chance is great for those who want to be a clever, deadly warrior for the common folk.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns

Central Texas Board Game and Miniatures Posted on September 21, 2023 by RichardSeptember 21, 2023

Just got this new solitaire game in…

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns — The Game is a solo board game experience in which you don the cape and cowl and journey through Frank Miller’s iconic comic book series. Instead of traditional leveling up, this is a game of attrition. As Batman, you must come out of retirement and do everything you can to beat back a relentless tide of ruthless mutants, cops, and press looking to bring you down. Get ready to face villains like Two-Face, The Joker, and the leader of the Mutant Gang… as well as your powerful former ally, Superman!

The game is played over the course of four epic “Books,” with the results of each carrying over to the next. Each Book features unique rules, allies, abilities, and epic boss battles. You can also play each Book standalone, with setup instructions for easy, normal, and hard modes. There’s even a VS Mode that lets one player take control of Batman’s enemies.

The game is offered in a regular edition and a Deluxe Edition featuring 17 miniature figures designed in the distinct Frank Miller art style of the comic!

KEY FEATURES

  • Based on Frank Miller’s iconic Batman: The Dark Knight Returns limited comic series
  • Highly detailed miniatures sculpted by Arnaud Boudoiron (Deluxe Edition only)
  • Accessible to hardcore and casual gamers alike
  • Variable setup and endless combinations of Fight and Detective Cards
  • Play as Batman and use unique Batarang dice
  • Uses imagery from the comic
