Chain of Command: Securing St-Come-du-Mont (pt 3)
A meeting engagement of the American 101st Airborne (Richard and Lee) and German Infantry (Jim and Jerry). The Germans occupied the towne (Jerry) and and an adjacent wooded area (Jim). The Americans (Richard) launched an initial attacked on the towne but fell back when the heavy mortars were deployed. The Germans in the towne were pinned and pounded through the rest of the attack. The Germans (Jim) then attacked the the Americans (Lee) across the road. Lee returned fire and the sides continued to exchange fire. The Americans (Richard) launched a flank attack against a light machine gun unit (Jerry) and destroyed them. Richard also called in a second mortar attack against the Germans (Jim) in the woods and pinned them and proceeded to pound them. Germans called a stop to the battle since they were all pinned and taking damage.
